This is the essence of what I call "the blueprint of hazing." The victims, (rookies, freshmen,) morph into bystanders and eventually into perpetrators, (seniors) whose right and duty it is to repeat the tradition. With each hazing the group adds their own personal touch, usually a bit more alcohol, a little more calisthenics or more sexuality or aggressiveness. This is one of the ways that initiations have changed from pranks to hazing; from innocent fun to dangerous patterns of behavior.
