(May8 3-teamer $5 wins $29)

Still sifting through the wreckage of what was yesterday's card as the bankroll was hammered thoroughly to the tune of $671 that drops the total to $7366. Plays went a pathetic 2-7 with lots of significant juice being sent the other way as plenty of chalk were destined to balk and drop their contests.

The two winners and there were only two were the Atlanta Braves in the 2nd game of their DH with the Pirates in an 8-1 walk over the Pirates. Hudson -1.5 -102 was the play and he did manage to pitch well enough. The sole remaining winner on the day was the Astros as Oswalt delivered and Zito stayed consistent with his poor playing. The plethera of losers consisted of Atlanta in G1, Florida in a tough one, St Louis, Toronto in G1, Cleveland in G2 as they lose 3-0 in 10, Seattle, and Boston. Florida, Boston, and Seattle each folded after taking multiple run leads after the first inning, including a 5-0 lead for Bedard and Seattle in their crazy 13-12 loss to Texas.

While my gambling results on Monday would appear to be a disaster (and in terms of what I do they most definitely were), but for the residents of Myannmar and China they are really dealing with a disaster of biblical proportions. I wanted to take a moment to offer condolences to the people of that region who are enduring times that remind to put things in their proper perspective and to be thankful for all that I do have. These people can use the help of all of us at this time, and if you have the means I urge all to please support the relief effort by giving cash to any of the more reputable agencies including the Red Cross.

Free play Monday was a typical result of the slate overall as the Marlins saw their 7 game winning streak come to an end in an 8-7 loss to the Reds. Marlins let a 3-0 lead slip away, then tied the game at 4 in the 7th only to see the Reds post a 4 spot in the home half. Marlins rally for 3 in the 8th but that is as close as they got.

For Tuesday's free selection, I will be back the Giants in Game 2 of their series with the Houston Astros. Giants will be looking to rebound from 7-3 loss to Houston last night as Oswalt defeated Zito.

Giants will be happier when the see one of their young guns pitchers, Cain, strolling to the hill as opposed to the lumbering piece of dung from last night's contest. Cain started slowly but has recovered his form since although his last start was a small bump in the recovery. SF has won 3 of the last 4 starts made by Cain.

Backe is the Astros starter and he is the guy I am picking on for this selection. The Astros are 3-5 in his 8 starts for the season, but are 0-4 when he has started away from Houston. While he pitched well in the first two road starts early in the season he appears to regressing. He gives up tons of baserunners and his control is most certainly an issue.

Price is fair and I feel the odds are with the Giants to get the win in this one tonight.

San Francisco Cain -113(WSEX)
113 to win 100

GOOD LUCK tonight with your action
