Neteller today issued a statement that it expects to resolve an investigation by July 13 and that a recent plea agreement made by one of its co-founders should not delay these efforts.

A former director Stephen Lawrence pleaded guilty Friday to a charge of criminal conspiracy in the US.

The US Attorney's Office for the Southern district of New York said Lawrence had pleaded guilty to 'a charge of conspiracy in connection with his role in Neteller's prior involvement in handling financial transactions between gambling customers in the US and offshore internet gambling businesses.'

Neteller added that neither Lawrence nor Lefebvre have any current position with or connection to the company, other than as shareholders.

In January, Neteller, an online payment processor which dealt almost exclusively in online gambling, pulled out of the US market following the arrests of Lawrence and Lefebvre. Nearly 80% of its business originated in the United States.

Lawrence has agreed to forfeit US$100m as part of the agreement with the US attorney’s office for the southern district of New York.
