I've got Sirius and it's great for everything but baseball

But the only thing I found was XM has a portable unit like an IPOD where Sirius doesn't have that yet. That is really handy when the wife drags you out of the house during a game.

Sirius has Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge starting this month, which is good if you're into that kind of radio. Sirius has the old VJ's from MTV like Blackwood, Quinn, JJ, etc. doing shows as well.

Sirius

Unless baseball is a must, I would go with Sirius.

They have rights to the NFL, NBA, NHL. In addition, they had a nice bowl lineup and have just signed on for the NCAA basketball tournament.

If you are a baseball fan you gotta go with XM. But if you like any other sport I would take Sirius. Other than that they are practically the same. They are both great services.

Buy the Protection plan when you get a Satellite radio

As I posted at Offshorebettor, the moment your Satellite radio stops working, and all these things do, you just bring it back to the store ( I like Circuit City because they are easy) and they hand you a new one and give you another 2 years at the same price. You cant beat it.

The only reason to get Sirius is if you like Howard Stern, NBA and NFL. In my humble opinion, XM is better as they have Opie and Anthony (funnier than Stern), NHL and Major League Baseball. Out of all the sports, Baseball translates best to radio. I never listen to NFL on Radio. Considering that every monday night game and your local teams are on radio once a week, that should be enough. Baseball you get like over 2500 games per season or so.

Xm

what is even funnier with Opie and Anthony now is that these guys are on regular FM right before they go on XM. For three hours they have to keep all their craziness under control then at 8:45 AM ET they start the walkover to XM and start cursing and going nuts. Its like they have to let it all out at XM. They are much better than Stern these days and I was a loyal Stern listener for years.
