Cain pitched well and the Giants came through with a 4-2 win for the free play on Tuesday. The Giants put up three first inning and never looked back. Cain pitched 8 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 7 hits and earning his 2nd win of the season.

The Cardinals have lost three straight contests and are looking to break the current bad run as they host the Pirates in Game 2 of the current series. Cardinals dropped and 8-4 10 inning decision to the Pirates in Tuesday's contest.

I like the Cardinals to roll large in this contest and it has to do with the pitching.....

The Cardinals are only 4-4 in the 8 previous starts by Wellemeyer, but they are a very nice 3-1 in his starts at home. In those 4 games the Cardinals have outscored the opposition by a combined 27-11 with all 3 of the wins coming by atleast two runs. Cardinals are a great home and they are playing a team that has played poorly on the road.

Maholm seems to be the weakest of the Pirates pitchers of late. Pittsburgh is 4-3 in his starts, but are a perfect 0-3 in his starts on the road. In those three starts the Pirates have been outscored 24-12 with all three loses being lopsided. Maholm has had trouble making it to the 5th inning much less past it in all of road outings.

Cardinals due to win with solid hurler on the hill against a bad road team with a bad road pitcher starting. This has all the making of a St Louis beatdown and I play them to win on the runline.

St Louis Wellemeyer -1.5 +150(WSEX)
100 to win 150

GOOD LUCK tonight with your action
